Zofran

Did you take Zofran in the first six weeks of your pregnancy during the middle part of the last decade?  Did your child develop holes in the congenital heart defects or cleft defects  (palates or lips)?

Zofran (Ondasentron) is a drug used to prevent nausea and vomiting, and pregnant women are often prescribed Zofran to treat these symptoms; however according to the United States FDA taking Zofran while pregnant can potentially lead to serious birth defects. It is not safe during pregnancy, particularly if taken in the first trimester.
